Take a Walk With Me......

Come and take a walk with me.....

My friend Paula and I took Bryce on a free fieldtrip {thanks to Better Homes and Gardens} to our local botanical gardens.
Cheekwood Botanical Gardens is located in Nashville, and oh my, what a beautiful and peaceful place...

This is where our walk begins......

At the end of this walkway, we found this beautiful sight.....

We continued down to the ponds...and Bryce took a little break to check things out.....

ahhh....so peaceful......

And I just had to share these beautiful eyes with the world too ;)

We wandered down the path a little more to find this bridge....

and just around the corner from that, was this garden...

And...wouldn't you know, I found some chippy paint that I fell in love with too!

Keep walking, keep walking and this is what you will find......

Just down a little more on the wandering pathway.....

Me and my big boy
 {he wanted to pick the flowers for me for Mother's Day, I asked if he would take a picture with me in the flowers instead so we wouldn't get kicked out}

I love this picture of a bumble bee....busy at work

More loveliness....

This is one of the photos that cracks me up....
you see, our photographer is 5, and he was ready to get moving...

So, this is what we got...

A stunning picture of my friend, Paula...and me....with my eyes closed.
Story of my life, haha!

This is a view outside of the Cheekwood mansion...

Couldn't you just see yourself living here and having this view of the rolling Tennessee mountains....

{I can dream, right}

This is the front of the Cheekwood mansion, I couldn't take pictures inside, but oh my! It was gorgeous! Marble...carved wood fireplaces...portraits and paintings everywhere...china....silver......

The family came from humble beginnings, they owned and ran a grocery store.
It was their family's recipe for roasted coffee that made them their fortune.
  They were able to purchase this 100 acre property and build their mansion here when they sold the family coffee recipe to.....

Maxwell house....

This is the house that coffee built, and boy...she's a looker!

We stopped along a trail to see a family looking high up in the trees....
this little critter was peeking out...
I was a little afraid to take my eyes off of him for fear that he would jump out of that tree!

So we walked, and walked, and walked a little more and when Bryce's legs couldn't carry him anymore he called for his trusty horse Galahad to carry him the rest of the way.....

What?? You don't see his horse?

Oh...well Galahad is just a touch imaginary.

He's a great horse, easy to take care of and comes running when ever you whistle for him. He's pretty faithful that way...

{I am saying all of these nice things about him because I accidentally shut his tail in the car door while we were loading him in....and I still feel bad about it}

A boy and his horse....

and this is where our walk ends....

{we actually followed our nose right up to the restaurant that they have on the property and had ourselves a fancy lunch....
we parked Galahad outside}

Thank's so much for coming along! I hope you enjoyed our little walk together!
