{Summer} Sanity Saver......

I'm sure you have been here before.....

"MOM!!! {so and so} changed the channel and I was watching that!?!"

"MOM!!! Why can't I open the door first?!? Why does he/she always get to??"

"MOM!!! I want to sit there! It's my turn!"

okay, you get the picture, right?

Our children see us as referees
as judges
as the ring master.....

Inspired by an article I read in the Disney Family Fun Magazine, this is what we will be doing from here on out to save what little sanity I have left....

What does this mean? means that if one kiddo wants to watch the Disney Channel, and the other doesn't....all I have to say is,
"Who is Kid of the Day?"
Problem solved.
Sound too easy, I know...but it really does work
We now use this as a way to solve little arguments through out the day, and it's working out great!!
{high five!!}

The Kid of the Day also gets a few extra special privileges like running errands with me or helping out with dinner prep. I love the idea of having more {happy} one on one time with them.
So we make it kind of a big deal....

I printed the picture {above} that I made on and I also made some special magnets with the kids pictures so that  each day the new Kid of the Day is announced they get to move their magnet onto the board....

{Little Liam has one too, because I just couldn't leave him out}

Kids argue....
But kids also love feeling proud and excited, it's a win/win in my momma book!

What do you think? I would love to hear your creative solutions for taming the never ending arguments between my kiddos!

  1. What a great, but simple idea! I will deffinately be putting this into action next week at the beginning of our summer. I have three as well, and they are always fighting over small things they do. Thanks for sharing!

  2. This is an amazing idea. How in the world did you ever think of it?!! I wonder if Dog of the Day would work? Hmmm.

  3. so does each kid get two days a week? are you doing one every day? or just like a once a week thing? does sound like it would eliminate the little arguments for awhile anyways :)

  4. What a great idea! We have three older kids and this might actually work with them lol! I can't wait to give it a try. I just found your blog and am now following along. It's absolutely adorable! So glad to have found you :)

I love comments! I read each and every one of them...thank you for taking the time!
