Blogger Baby Shower

I got an e-mail this week from Heather from At the Picket Fence , she wanted to let me know about an effort led by Callie and her mother Dianne to help those in Alabama who were devastated by the tornadoes there on April 27th. As I read, I knew this would be something I wanted to be a part of. You see, as you may already know, I called Alabama home for most of my life, and all of my family is still there. We were so blessed that my family, their homes and many of their friends were safe, but the devastation continues for so many people there. So I have teamed up with Callie, her mom Dianne, Heather and Vanessa, Emily, Caitlin, Meghann, Beth, and Allison to get the word out about help for those in need. Callie's sister lives in Tuscaloosa AL, and has been volunteering with a local church there. The greatest need they have is for baby items...diapers, formula, bottles etc.

What a great way to help by giving a "virtual baby shower" and it's so easy to give! All you need to do is visit the baby shower registry that they have set up at Amazon. All the items purchased from this registry will be sent directly to the church in Tuscaloosa so they can get the items to families in need.
Also...as it is with all baby showers, there will be prizes!!  As a little extra incentive to help out, everyone who purchases an item off the registry will be automatically entered to win a $50 HomeGoods gift certificate from The Inspired Housewife or a $25 gift certificate from At The Picket Fence. (Amazon keeps track of everyone who makes a purchase from the registry and we will randomly select the winners from that list).

I hope you will be able to help and share this information on your blog or with friends on facebook and twitter...I am grateful for a way to help and will continue to pray for all those who have been affected by these storms. I know we will be able to make a difference if we all pull together!
